Procedures for Extra Curricular Events
Parents, Students and Visitors and Coaches
This correspondence is in reference to the rules and procedures that will be in effect for all uses and extracurricular events at West Mifflin Area School District facilities. The goal of the West Mifflin Area School District is to provide a safe and secure environment for all athletes, coaches, referees, spectators, and community members at our facilities.
A meeting of school administrators, security, the athletic committee, and law enforcement occurred to discuss what needs to be addressed to hold a safe event. There is a plan in place that will be implemented for each event and unwanted behaviors will not be tolerated.
There will be signage to assist in directing the crowd. All guests must purchase a ticket if required.
Spectators coming to an event will need to follow the procedures below.
- Most Venues will open at 5:30 p.m. and close promptly at 8 p.m. No one will be permitted to enter the venue after 8 p.m.
- All spectators will pass through metal detectors upon entry.
- Only approved bags or purses will be permitted.
*West Mifflin School District Bag Policy
- Allowed-wristlets-belt packs-small purses= 4.5 inches x 6.5 inches (max)
- Allowed- clear bags= 12 inches X 12 inches (max)
- Allowed- medical-diaper-camera.
*All bags will be searched prior to entry.
- No one is permitted on the playing surface at any time.
- All spectators must sit in the bleachers. No standing.
- Behavior that is unruly, disruptive, or illegal in nature will not be tolerated.
- Anyone visibly intoxicated or smells of alcohol or marijuana will not be permitted to enter the venue at the discretion of the district administration team.

Procedures for Campus/Stadium Access
Parents, Students, Community Members, Visitors
This correspondence is in reference to the rules and procedures that will be in effect for anyone that may enter West Mifflin Area School District campuses or facilities. The goal of the West Mifflin Area School District is to provide a safe and secure environment for all.
Upon entry to district property, there will be signage to assist in directing everyone to a desired location. While school is in session, everyone shall park in the color-coded designated parking areas.
*Everyone shall enter the main entrance of each school building to initiate a screening process. Other than normal school operations, each school campus will be closed to the public daily while students are in session.
- Stadium/Track Access: Opens March 17, 2025, Closes December 17, 2025
During the school year- Daily hours 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm
During the school year- Weekend hours 10:00am - 6:00 pm
Summer break- Daily 8:00am- 9:00 pm
- Baseball/Softball Complex- Closed -Request for use must be scheduled and approved with the Athletic Director.
*Track/stadium/fields will close at the discretion of the district for student use or events.
The district hopes by implementing these procedures that everyone can enjoy the facilities and assist in creating a safe environment within the district.
