Welcome to Clara Barton Elementary School, where students benefit from a strong foundation in academics, personal growth, and community values. Our school is located in the South Hills of Allegheny County and serves West Mifflin, and Whitaker.
Our goal is to provide every student with a supportive, challenging educational experience that encourages critical thinking, responsible action, and the ability to thrive in a diverse, ever-changing world. We are dedicated to individualized instruction and to creating a welcoming, inclusive learning environment for all.
At West Mifflin, we believe students learn best in an environment where they feel safe, supported, and free to express themselves. We encourage active engagement in learning and hold students accountable for their growth and behavior. Family involvement, responsible use of technology, and participation in extracurricular activities are key to shaping well-rounded individuals.
We are committed to supporting students academically, socially, and emotionally, while also providing meaningful learning experiences beyond the classroom. By promoting respect for diversity, celebrating academics, athletics, and the arts, and upholding clear expectations, we work together to create a strong and inclusive school community. When students come to school regularly, make good choices, and treat others with respect, they help create a positive environment built on integrity, effort, and teamwork.
Welcome Titans! Let’s make it a great year, together.
