Title I, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) is one of the nation’s oldest and largest federally funded education programs. It provides financial assistance to help our district support students who are educationally at risk.
All schools in the West Mifflin Area School District receive Title I services.
The goal of Title I is to offer additional instructional support and activities for students who are not meeting—or are at risk of not meeting—state performance standards in reading and/or math.

The West Mifflin Area School District provides a wide range of academic and social-emotional interventions to support student success. Programs include tools for assessing and addressing learning gaps, personalized instruction, and credit recovery for at-risk students. Social-emotional initiatives focus on mental health, inclusion, leadership, and basic needs support.
Together, these efforts are designed to ensure all students are equipped to thrive both academically and personally.
