One to One Insurance

FAMILY PLAN IS NOW NO LONGER AVAILABLE UNLESS NEW STUDENT

Dear Parents/Guardians of WMASD,

We're reaching out to inform you about some changes to our laptop insurance this year. As part of our ongoing efforts to provide comprehensive coverage and excellent service, we want to keep you informed about these changes and provide you with ample time to make any necessary adjustments.

Starting on August 23, 2023, there will be a new insurance plan from Securranty!

1. **Single Student Laptop Insurance:**

Effective August 23, 2023, the price for laptop insurance for a single student will be $25. This coverage will include protection against accidental damages, theft, and other potential issues that can affect your laptop's performance. Dell styli are not covered. After October 2, 2023 the cost will increase to $50 for single student coverage.

2. **Family Laptop Insurance:**

For families with multiple students or laptops, we offer a family laptop insurance package. This package provides coverage for multiple laptops within the same household. Dell styli are not covered. Effective August 23, 2023, the price for a family package will be $50. After October 2, 2023 the family plan will not be available.

3. **No Insurance Option**

For parents/guardians that choose to not insure their devices, there will be a one-time obligation of $50 per student to repair or replace damaged or lost/stolen devices that will then cover that student for the remainder of the school year. This does not cover families.

If you are interested in securing laptop insurance at the current pricing, we encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity before October 2, 2023. After this date, the new pricing will come into effect for all new policies. Students new to the District who will have 2 weeks to purchase insurance packages at original pricing.

Payment Information

For the first time we are now offering an online payment method for you to pay for your laptop insurance. We will still also still take cash, checks, and money orders (made out to WMASD).

Please note there is a small processing fee of $0.88 if purchasing an individual plan and $1.75 for a family plan that is added onto the cost by the vendor.

If you are going to send cash, check, money order with your child we ask you place it into an envelope with the following information on the outside:

Student's Name (if family plan please list ALL)

Students' ID # (if family plan please list ALL)

Note it is for laptop insurance

Students are to give these envelops to their building secretary ONLY, not to IT, homeroom teacher, etc.

Student Laptop Insurance FAQ

Q: Is there still a deductible?

A: No. There is no longer a deductible. It's a one time payment.

Q: What is covered?
A: Any physical damage, lost charger, lost/stolen device.

Q: What if my device was stolen?
A: WMASD will need a police report to send to the insurance company for reimbursement.

Q: Is there a limit to claims?
A: No. Once paid there is no limit to the number of claims that can be submitted during the 2023 - 2024 school year.
