New Emerson Students Participate in
Earth Day Clean-up

Students in Mrs. Crosby's kindergarten class contributed to the global Earth Day activities by cleaning up debri around the school grounds. The student's were proud to participate in the clean-up and show-off what they removed!

Emerson Elementary School proudly
announces the winners of the 2007 Science Fair!

Winners were announced at a special awards ceremony held in Emerson’s Auditorium on Friday March 30, 2007. Students in First, Second, and Third places were given trophies along with a few Honorable Mentions. All participants received meal vouchers and $5.00 Power Cards from Dave and Busters and were treated to a pizza party in the cafeteria sponsored by the PTA after the ceremony. The pizza was donated in part by Italian Village Pizza, Dravosburg.

Just for participating, students were eligible for one of many prize drawings donated by various businesses in the area. They included: Cameron Mitchell Restaurants, Destinta Theaters – Plaza 22 North Versailles, Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, Inc., Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium, Carnegie Science Center, Heinz History Center, Playmor Bowling, Hollywood Video, Pleasant Hills Chick-fil-A, Dave and Busters, and Kennywood Entertainment. There were 43 prizes in all!

Emerson Elementary Commemorates 9/11
and Dedicates Flag Pole

         

Emerson Elementary students held a ceremony on the 5th anniversary of September 11 to remember victims and honor those who aided in rescue efforts. Students made speeches and doves were released by Love Doves of Pittsburgh to symbolize healing for our nation.

The building's new flag pole was also dedicated with a flag ceremony conducted by members of WMAHS Air Force JROTC.
