EMERSON'S GIVING TREE

This Christmas Season Emerson Elementary is once again lending a Helping Hand.

Emerson Staff sponsored a Giving Tree for a family in need this Holiday Season.

We wish them, and all of you, the Happiest of Holidays.

THIS YEAR

EMERSON

IS LENDING A HELPING HAND

Emerson's Community Service Project

November 8th, 2011

The Emerson faculty will take part in a community walk on November 8th at 1:30.

Throughout the month of October, Emerson Students have brought in donations to sponsor their teachers in the walk.  The amount of funds raised will go to the Emerson PTA and to help fund Thanksgiving dinners for Emerson families in need.

As students donated a dollar, they received a hand print with their name and room number on it.  Each grade level is represented by a different color hand, which is featured on Emerson’s bulletin board located in the lobby.

The entire faculty has also made donations.

Our EMERSON COMMUNITY WALK was a HUGE success.

Here are some photos from the walk

New Emerson Elementary joined with many others in October in recognizing Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

We had a PINK & DENIM WEEK October

17th-21st to promote breast cancer awareness. Teachers and other Staff members donated money that was given to the Amy Zlokis Memorial Scholarship fund. Amy was a West Mifflin High School Nurse who fought but lost a battle with breast cancer. We honor her memory each year with this event. We also hope to increase awareness of the disease and to encourage continuing research into its cause, prevention and cure.
