Before choosing a book, it is important to consider what other types of entertainment you enjoy.
Be prepared to tell the library staff:
1. What other books you have enjoyed reading.
2. What types of movies you have enjoyed watching.
3. What type of television shows you have enjoyed watching.
Based on this information, the library staff can recommend a genre (type of story) that you would enjoy. Listed below are several of our most popular genres. Each genre is a link to the most popular authors who write for that genre.

After choosing several authors from the genre that interests you, you can then...
1.Use the library's OPAC to locate books by the recommended authors.
2. Explore the library's Novelist program to locate reviews and other recommended reads.
3. See the library staff for more personal recommendations based upon your requests.
If the novel that you would like to read is not currently available in the WMAHS Library collection, we can order it for you from one of our over 3,000 partner libraries. There is no charge, so see the librarian for assistance.
