Each year the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania offers artistically and academically talented students a special opportunity that their local schools cannot offer. The Governor's Schools are intensive five-week-long summer residential programs committed to meeting the needs of gifted children.  These programs are offered free of charge due to scholarships offered by the Commonwealth.  Entrance to the Governor's Schools is exclusive and is based entirely on the merit of the student's application.
