West Mifflin Celebrates
Read Across America

These Clara Barton students and staff celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday last Friday, March 2 by inviting guest readers to come in to read their favorite stories. The readers included area legislators, District administrators and grandparents. Staff members and PTA parents joined in the fun with costumes and a birthday cake.

Emerson PTA sponsored a week-long celebration, participating in the National Education Association's "Read Across America" day on March 2, 2007 for the eighth year in a row. This year (2007) would be Dr. Seuss' 104th birthday. Emerson celebrated from Tuesday, February 28 through Friday, March 2 by inviting special guest readers to help with the celebration. They read stories to the students in their classrooms during the school day. The students received stickers and bookmarks to join in the celebration. Click here for photos.
