The WMASD entered into a new busing contract mid-way through the year with Pennsylvania Coach Lines, Inc., with this agreement, a new transportation mission statement was implemented focusing on safety and security. It reads as follows: The West Mifflin Area School District transportation program is committed to reducing school bus-related crashes, injuries, and fatalities through both behavioral programs and vehicle regulations. The district will work to educate school bus drivers, students and other motorists about safe behavior that reduces the risk of being involved in a school bus-related crash.
